Austrian police say the female companion of a suspected member of the now disbanded German Red Army Faction, Horst Ludwig Meyer, who was killed in a gunfight with police in Vienna on Wednesday , is also believed to be a member of the group.
A security official, Michael Sika, said the woman, Andrea Martina Klump, who was arrested at the scene, was wanted in connection with the murder ten years ago of Alfred Herrhausen, a senior Deutsche Bank executive. The Red Army Faction launched an urban guerrilla campaign against the then West German establishment during the 1970 and 1980s.
The group disbanded last year.
