 The police want people to report incidents |
A senior Guernsey police officer says reporting of incidents of petty vandalism or anti-social behaviour could improve the standard of living for islanders. The comments come from Guernsey Police's Chief Inspector of Operations, Ken Davey, who says the force can only respond if people speak out.
Mr Davey said he could understand why elderly members of the community may be nervous about making complaints.
But he added the police cannot respond if they do not know what is happening.
Mr Davey said members of the community may be nervous about raising problems, particularly for fear of repercussions.
But he said in order for things to change, residents have to speak out and, if necessary, it can be done anonymously.
