Derren Brown's show did not break Jersey gun rules |
Jersey police say no gun laws were broken during a live Russian roulette TV stunt which was broadcast from the island on Sunday night. Illusionist Derren Brown asked another person to load a revolver with one bullet in the show filmed at Francheville Farm, Grouville.
Brown then pointed the gun at his own head, and pulled the trigger a number of times, stopping when he guessed the gun would fire.
Superintendent John Pearson said Jersey police were informed of the stunt before it took place.
Having examined how the stunt would work, they were satisfied it would not break any of the island's gun laws.
Channel 4 spokeswoman Claudia Christie said although a real gun was used, there were many safeguards in place to make sure no-one could be hurt.
The ambulance service were on site during the stunt and two paramedics were present throughout.
Owner of the farm Ian Mitchell said: "I can confirm that the live part of the show took place here."
