Two die after boat capsizes
Jersey General Hospital
The men were taken to Jersey General Hospital after the rescue
Two men have died after their boat sank off Jersey's north coast.

The alarm was raised by a tourist on the cliffs at Rozel on Sunday.

He reported seeing a boat had turned over and sank and someone was in the water wearing a lifejacket.

They were rescued from the sea and treated on the St Catherine lifeboat but were declared dead at Jersey's General Hospital.

Boat search

The men's names have not yet been released.

Rescue crews have yet to identify the type of boat, which is thought to have been about 20 feet (6.1 metres) long.

Lifeboat crews and the fire service inshore rescue boat searched the area where the men were rescued for the vessel. So far, no main part of it has been found.

Harbour authorities are considering whether to continue their search on Monday morning.
