Businesses see more visitor bookings
Guernsey
Guernsey has seen an increase in visitors from the UK
Tourism in Guernsey may be taking a turn for the better after a few lean years.

Beach kiosk proprietors on the island have been reporting an increase in trade this year.

The Guernsey Hotel and Tourist Association has also said that there definitely seems to be an increase in bookings.

Both the kiosks and hotel association say the increase seems to be mainly visitors from the UK.

Kiosk operators say the visitor increase is a big improvement on what they described as "disastrously poor season" last year.

The president of Guernsey Hotel and Tourist Association, Carl Symes, said that although it is too early to start celebrating, it does appear that bookings are better this year than last.
