Company no longer controls development
Guernsey market
Final details of the scheme will be unveiled on Monday
The developing firm McAulay says it no longer has control over when work will start on the St Peter Port Markets.

The company is unveiling the final details on how the available shop space will be used on Monday.

But McAulay's director Brett Allen says the building contract has now been passed on to the firm, Sir Robert McAlpine.

He says that company will now be responsible for beginning the development.

'Long relationship'

"We've done our bit it's now down to Sir Robert McAlpine to get on with it," said Mr Allen.

"I have a long relationship with them and they don't usually waste time.

"They do take a bit of time getting the infrastructure together but I think they've done that.

"I can look forward to things really getting a move on now," he said.
