If dry weather continues, water limits may be introduced |
Jersey people are being asked not to waste water as the island's reservoirs are running low. The island's desalination plant has been switched on to make fresh water from the sea.
Jersey New Waterworks Company Managing Director Howard Snowden says the situation is not critical yet.
However, he said water levels are lower now than they have been in recent years.
He says if the current dry weather continues, the company may have to introduce measures to limit the amount of water people use.
But for the moment, he is asking islanders to be careful how much water they use, especially when watering their gardens.
