Friday was the 58th anniversary of the island's liberation |
People in Jersey have commemorated the 58th anniversary of Liberation Day.
Events took place across the island, including a service and re-enactment in Liberation Square.
Many of the island's uniformed organisations marched from Howard Davis Park towards Liberation Square.
The celebrations commemorate Jersey's liberation from the German armed forces after almost five years of occupation.
Massed march
There was a special States sitting and Senator Frank Walker gave an address about the history of the island's liberation.
People also had the opportunity to get involved in community singing with many well-known songs from the wartime period.
This was followed, for the first time, by a massed march past of all those involved in the parade.
