Royal recognition for island
The Queen
Three islanders are among those receiving honours
A former leading politician in Jersey is one of three islanders to receive recognition in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.

Pierre Horsfall has been awarded a CBE for his work in the community.

Former BBC Radio Jersey journalist and charity worker Alan Phillips has been awarded the MBE.

And the manager of the island's Citizen's Advice Bureau, Francis Le Gresley, has also received the same honour.

He said: "I was amazed really. I regard myself as relatively young to be receiving such an award.

"I am almost embarrassed that I should receive it at the tender age of just gone 50."
