House laws under fire
Nursing chiefs are pressing Guernsey politcians to change housing rules.

The Royal College of Nursing says that without importing people with skills it is hard to provide services like radiotherapy.

But the housing rules often put good candidates off.

Health professionals say increasing their licences from five years to eight years would help.

If doctors and nurses could stay on the island for longer, it would save on the cost of retraining and recruiting new staff.

Guernsey's housing law as it exists now will expire next year.

Politicians will be discussing changes later this year.
