The care and support offered to Jersey's offenders will be discussed at a conference for probation officers from around the British Isles. The chief officers from Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are meeting for the first time in Jersey.
They will be sharing examples of best practice from their individual services.
And they will discuss the possibility of working together to approach the UK Home Office on different issues.
Brian Heath, Jersey's Chief Probation Officer, said it will allow them to concentrate on issues relevant to offshore jurisdictions.
