The introduction of pay-parking was approved by 27 votes to 21 |
Guernsey politicians have voted in favour of plans to introduce long-stay pay-parking in St Peter Port. The States voted 27-21 to accept the Traffic Committee's plans at the end of a long debate.
Earlier they had voted to accept the principle of reducing car usage, by 31 votes to 16.
The House also went along with the reduction of road tax, in favour of increased fuel tax and the banning of bull bars.
All of the committee's proposals were accepted.
Deputy Ann Robilliard welcomed the move to reduce the amount of cars on the roads.
