Women's Aid branches out
Domestic violence generic
The group aims to provide support in the community
A newly-launched support group for women in Guernsey is appealing for volunteers to come forward to help support its work.

Jean Pritchard, a member of the steering group for Guernsey Women's Aid, said the group had previously been linked with the Domestic Violence Forum.

But Ms Pritchard said going it alone would help the group plug any gaps between existing services available in Guernsey.

The group is setting out to provide community support for women who have suffered violence.

One of the group's volunteers is a professional trainer in social services and will provide the appropriate training for anyone interested in joining the group.

Ms Pritchard said although Women's Aid had decided to branch out on its own, it would still compliment the other services in Guernsey.
