Highlands College is running the island's first building management and architectural technology degree courses. The courses have been set up in conjunction with London's South Bank University. Peter Wade, head of technology at Highlands, says the aim of the course is to give people already working in the construction industry the chance to get a degree and continue doing their normal job. He says this will increase the number of people with professional qualifications among Jersey's workforce. Mr Wade says the course is handy because the students will not have to travel to the UK. And by 2004 Highlands College is also hoping to offer a masters degree course as well. | Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Europe stories now: Links to more Europe stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
