| Monday, 13 May, 2002, 16:23 GMT 17:23 UK Inside the Baikonur cosmodrome Eight people died when a roof collapsed at Russia's main space launch site, the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The eight were repairing the roof of one of the hangars - used for assembling and testing space vehicles - when three out of five segments crashed 80 metres (260 feet) to the ground. ![]()
