| Saturday, 23 March, 2002, 17:03 GMT Spanish police smash internet porn ring Spanish police have broken up an internet child pornography ring, arresting 13 people, including three minors. The network had been operating nationally across eight Spanish provinces including Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga showing indecent images of children of all ages and nationalities. Investigations into the ring began last July after police were alerted to it by the chairman of an internet chat room association. Police confiscated 12 computers containing archives of child pornography. The focus of the investigation is now to find out how the suspects obtained the material. Police say they expect further arrests. Earlier in the week two people were arrested in Spain as part of an international crackdown on another internet child pornography ring.
