| Friday, 6 April, 2001, 12:24 GMT 13:24 UK EU, Russia cooperation against organised crime The European Union and Russia say they will intensify their cooperation in the fight against organised crime. They say their efforts will focus on people smuggling, drug-related crime and the trade in stolen cars. The Swedish presidency of the EU said the most important task will be to provide practical means for the European and Russian authorities to work together. These include the sharing of information and improving contacts officials on both sides.
