According to the Danish newspaper, Politiken, Lia Damn has been summoned to the Ligningsrdet - the country's highest tax authority. Municipal tax authorities in Vejle, where Ms Damn lives, accepted her claim to offset around 20,000 Danish kroner (about $25,000) against tax. But regional customs and excise officials appealed, sending the case to the top authority. Ms Damn will argue that her breast enlargement operation was a required expense for her profession, the paper writes. She requested permission to testify at a hearing of the 19-member tax authority. According to Politiken, in a similar case, local tax authorities in Odense refused the claim of a stripper = acolleague of Ms Damn - who tried to write off the cost of her silicon implants. They did not accept that breast enlarging operations can be considered a required business expense. |
