| Tuesday, 21 November, 2000, 17:02 GMT Turkey angered by 'colonial' EU attitude There's been another angry outburst by the Turkish government over the attitude of the European Union to Turkish membership. The foreign minister, Ismail Cem, accused EU countries of behaving towards Turkey like colonial governors. He said Ankara was reaching the point where it could no longer trust the organisation. Mr Cem's comments at a meeting of Turkish and European Parliament deputies in the southern town of Antalya follow the sudden insertion in last week's accession document, which lists reforms the EU wants Turkey to make, of a reference to Ankara being more co-operative in efforts to resolve the Cyprus dispute. Turkey has also been angered by a motion passed by the European Parliament last week calling on Ankara to recognise that Turks committed genocide against the Armenians during the First World War.
