| Thursday, 28 September, 2000, 10:47 GMT 11:47 UK Nichola goes for pop fame ![]() Nichola Holt hopes her stardom isn't cut short Former Big Brother contestant Nichola Holt has launched her attempt at pop stardom with a performance at a London record store sale. The shaven-headed 29-year-old performed her song The Game to a crowd of around 300 people outside a branch of HMV on Oxford Street. Holt said after the performance: "Big Brother definitely changed my life for the better and I would do it over again. "I'm going to make another record soon and hopefully a dance album. I'm new to the industry and I still have a lot to learn." 'Challenge' Holt was the fourth person to leave the house after a stint which saw her smear her naked body with clay and make prints on the house walls.
"They've also said I only got the record deal with BMG because of Big Brother. Well, however I got it, I would have been stupid to turn it down." Holt is one of a number of former Big Brother contestants making a stab at stardom now the series is over. Drunk Sada Walkington, the first person to be evicted from the house, releases her relationship advice book The Babe's Bible on 9 October - the same day as Holt's single hits the shops. Andrew Davidson - who boasted of his sexual antics to his fellow housemates - is currently co-hosting Channel 5's Exclusive programme. But Holt found life in the public eye could be embarrassing as well when she turned up at an awards ceremony with fellow former contestant Caroline O'Shea, and were filmed falling over drunk. Holt said life since she left the house has been "very intense, very different and very tiring". "Everybody from the house is doing different things now and we all worked extremely hard to get on the show and I wish them the best luck in the world," she said. |
