| Friday, 8 September, 2000, 23:21 GMT 00:21 UK Live & Kicking gets new look ![]() The new team: Deley, Hill, Farley and Cawood Former Blue Peter host Katy Hill will join Sarah Cawood as part of a new team to host children's show Live & Kicking. The BBC One show has taken a battering in the ratings from ITV rival SM:TV Live, and former presenters Emma Ledden and Steve Wilson left after the last series ended earlier this year.
The others are Ortis Deley, 27, who has worked on children's BBC shows Why 5 and Short Change, and Trey Farley, 25, who comes from MTV UK's Select show. Hill said she was "absolutely thrilled" with her new job. "I love live television and I can't wait to get started," she added. Cawood, who is best known for fronting The Girlie Show on Channel 4, said: "I was walking home from the gym when my agent broke the news and I burst into tears."
Head of children's entertainment Chris Bellinger said: "The shape of Saturday mornings on BBC One is changing. "7 October is going to offer something new when the series returns with a completely different look." |
