But the singer will not be attending the meeting himself.

"He wants his neighbours to feel free to express themselves pro or con," Maddox said.

Brooks, 38, sold 89 million albums in 10 years to become the biggest-selling artist in country music history.

Earlier this year he announced he was retiring from performing so he could devote more time to his family, as well as film and songwriting projects.

Other country performers, including the late Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, have also turned their homes into tourist sites.
