The Shakespeare in Love star admitted her life changed forever when he called time on their relationship three years ago. Pitt, 36, reportedly got cold feet when she started talking about marriage.
But the Hollywood heart-throb had no such problems when he got hitched to Friends star Jennifer Aniston in a glittering ceremony last month. Paltrow, 27, spoke about her break-up with Pitt in the latest edition of Vanity Fair magazine. "When we split up, something changed permanently in me," she said. "My heart sort of broke that day and it will never be the same." No regrets But Paltrow insisted she had no regrets about the break-up in June 1997. "I think you have to keep yourself intact in order to have a healthy relationship and I didn't," she confessed. "I loved every second of it, but it wasn't healthy." The actress, who subsequently had a fling with actor Ben Affleck, insisted she is now happy to be single. "I wouldn't change anything because it's made me what I am," she added. Pitt and Aniston got married in a million-dollar ceremony in Malibu on 29 June. Paltrow, unsurprisingly, was not among the 200 guests. |
