Thompson on 6 Music closure

The BBC must concentrate on bringing popular music to the audiences through Radio 1 and Radio 2, Mark Thompson has said.

Speaking after the announcement that 6 Music and Asian Network were facing closure, the BBC's Director General said that 6 Music did not represent 'value for money'.
