Draft scripts from Stanley Kubrick's film Dr Strangelove have sold for �11,162 at auction in London.

Tickets for the world premiere of the 1964 film, at the Columbia Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue, London, sold for �2,055.

But other items from his archive failed to sell, including 11 letters written by Kubrick about the film, which starred Peter Sellers and George C Scott.

Widely regarded as his finest work, Dr Strangelove was nominated for four Oscars, including best picture, best director and best actor for Peter Sellers.

The film was based on Welsh writer Peter George's 1958 novel Two Hours to Doom.

Another collection of papers relating to Lord Olivier also failed to sell.

A set of 250 letters and cards written by the legendary thespian and his family, which were being offerered by his eldest son, Tarquin, had an estimate of �50,000 to �60,000.
