Sci-fi drama District 9 held on to the top spot at the UK and Ireland box office, with 3D horror The Final Destination staying at number two. An adaptation of Oscar Wilde's novel Dorian Gray, starring Colin Firth, was the highest new entry at number three. Quirky comedy (500) Days of Summer dropped to number five, while Quentin Tarantino's war drama Inglourious Basterds slipped from four to seven. Andrea Arnold's critically-acclaimed Fish Tank was a new entry at number 15. The film is set on an Essex housing estate and stars a teenager, Katie Jarvis, who was "discovered" while having an argument with a boyfriend on a railway platform.
