Pop singer Stevens ties the knot

Stevens was supported every week by Bourne on the dancing show

Singer and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Rachel Stevens has married actor Alex Bourne at a London ceremony.

The 31-year-old, who came second in the ballroom dancing series last year, tied the knot at the "friends and family" occasion in Claridges Hotel.

According to reports, Stevens' former S Club 7 bandmates did not attend the event, the rights of which have been sold to a celebrity magazine.

Stevens recently said she would wear "a meringue dress" for her wedding.

The singer, who also had a run of solo hits including Sweet Dreams My LA Ex, lost out to actor Tom Chambers in the final of Strictly Come Dancing.

She scored two sets of perfect scores for two dances during her run on the show, in which she was partnered by Italian professional Vincent Simone.

Her fiance Bourne was often shown in the audience on the programme supporting her.

Earlier this year, Stevens was robbed by three men at her north London home.

She lost a number of items of jewellery, including her engagement ring.
