| Wednesday, 28 June, 2000, 11:06 GMT 12:06 UK Jerry 'can't get rid of Mick' ![]() Hall had to get tough with Jagger Jerry Hall says she cannot seem to get rid of her ex-partner Mick Jagger. The Texan model split up with her Rolling Stones partner of more than 20 years in January 1999. They have remained close but Hall, 44, said things got out of hand when Jagger bought a flat next door to hers in London - and then knocked down a wall into her dining room while she was away. "I can't get rid of him," said Hall in an interview with ABC. But she added: "I'm making him move, I said to him: 'Look, it's 11 months and you've got to get your own place."
The couple's relationship broke down after Brazilian model Luciana Morad announced that she had an affair with Jagger, 56, and that she was expecting his child. Hall filed for divorce from Jagger - with whom she has had four children. But Jagger then sent sparks flying by saying their Hindu marriage ceremony in Bali in 1990 was not valid. Seduction Despite the acrimonious nature of their split, Hall said she and Jagger still cared for each other. She added that the Rolling Stones frontman was sorry for the way they broke up.
"He didn't know what came over him. He said it was the lawyers - it was just plain rude. I think he was ashamed of himself over that," she said. She went on to reveal that he was writing a new album in which many of the songs were about her. "He's really trying to get to me," she said. However, Hall will soon be too busy with her London stage career - and a new man in her life - to think much about her former partner. Hall takes over the role of Mrs Robinson in the West End hit, The Graduate from 31 July, replacing Hollywood star Kathleen Turner. Like her predecessor, Hall will appear naked on stage as the middle-aged temptress Mrs Robinson who seduces the naive young Benjamin Braddock - to be played by Josh Cohen. But, said Hall, at the show's press launch on Wednesday, she intended to make the part her own. "The difference is that unlike Kathleen Turner, every night on stage I really will be trying to pick up that young boy," she affirmed.
She added that she was particularly looking forward to going naked on stage. "I'm just going to let it all hang out and imagine that I'm a warrior queen in a suit of armour," she enthused. And while Hall is pulling in the crowds in London's West End, Jagger will be well occupied and out of the limelight. Hall announced that Jagger will be baby-sitting their children while she is on stage - just as she had done while he was appearing on tour during their two decades together. |
