Schwarzenegger played the Terminator in three blockbuster films |
The new Terminator film may feature a cameo from California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the original star of the futuristic franchise has revealed. "They're looking at the technology to see if it is possible to use my image without me actually doing the work," said the actor turned politician. According to Schwarzenegger, Terminator Salvation will feature the killer robot he played in the 1984 original. He added it was "cool" that the action franchise was continuing. In a webcast interview with US blogger Bill Bradley, the 61-year-old said he was pleased "in case I want to jump over again and get into the acting when I'm through here". He said it would become clear "within the next week or so" whether it would be possible for his likeness to feature in the film. Speaking earlier this week, the California governor said his likeness would potentially appear in "a brief scene" of the film, directed by McG. "One of the leads runs into a room and all of a sudden sees the future Terminators," revealed the former bodybuilder. "I think they will go back to Terminator one and use that walk of mine," he added. "I told them I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together." Governor Schwarzenegger said he had met with director McG - real name Joseph McGinty Nichol - and would attend the film's premiere. Starring Christian Bale as resistance leader John Connor, Terminator Salvation opens in the US on 21 May and in the UK on 3 June.
