Robbie Williams is busy on his new album |
Robbie Williams will not be rejoining Take That despite recent media speculation, Gary Barlow has said. "People constantly ask if Robbie will rejoin us but nothing has changed," said Barlow while recording Chris Moyles's Quiz Night. "We're a happy band right now. Robbie won't be joining." Last month press reports quoted Williams as saying a reunion was "more likely by the week" but the singer has himself gone on to deny that. Williams walked out on the group in 1995 and the band split a year later. Barlow and band members Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen launched a successful comeback in 2006 after the release of Patience, which went to number one. Williams is currently back in the studio recording his new solo album, which is due out in the autumn. Take That are also recording in another studio in the same building. The band are also preparing for a summer stadium tour. Williams and his former band mates are said to be once again on good terms. Williams has been largely out of the spotlight since 2006, when he released his last album Rudebox and went on a world tour. Rudebox was a relative commercial and critical disappointment, ending up as the 41st best-selling album of 2006 in the UK. The forthcoming release will be his last album under his current contract with EMI.
