Rocky Andrews runs 15 sandwich shops across the north of England |
Sandwich shop owner Rocky Andrews has become the second contestant to be fired from reality show the Apprentice after his team lost a catering task. The 21-year-old captained the men's team, Empire, as they made a loss of £160 catering for a corporate function. The women's team, Ignite, made £651. Firing him, Sir Alan Sugar said he had assumed "this was the right bloke to do the job because he runs 15 shops". Andrews blamed "city bosses down south" for not appreciating his pitch. | In the north, if we'd have pitched in Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle, we'd have got the business |
Empire developed an Olympic theme for the catering task which involved "doing something from each continent", such as peanut butter sandwiches to represent America. The people his team had approached took themselves too seriously, Andrews said. "In the north, if we'd have pitched in Manchester, Leeds or Newcastle, we'd have got the business." In the boardroom, Sir Alan said: "Rocky, you're 21-years-old but one cannot ignore what I call immature mistakes," before firing him. Last week, business strategist Anita Shah became the first contender to be thrown off the BBC One show.
