Jon Beazley, controller of the BBC's entertainment production responds to criticism from some viewers of Strictly Come Dancing over the handling of the public phone vote.

The semi-final ended with no couple being voted off the programme because of a tie in the scoring.

Two out of the three remaining couples gained maximum points from the show's judges making it impossible for the public vote to determine who should appear in a dance off.
