Spears' child is out of hospital

Britney Spears' son has been discharged from hospital after being treated for a reaction to something he ate, a statement on her website has revealed.

Jayden James, two, was admitted to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center on Sunday but was now out of hospital and was "fine", it added.

The hospital is close to the Spears family home in Kentwood, Louisiana.

The statement follows reports that the child, who has one brother - Sean Preston, three - had "a seizure".

Court order

The two children are in the care of the singer's former husband, Kevin Federline.

The couple were married in 2004 and finalised their divorce in July 2007.

Spears lost custody in October 2007 and temporarily lost visiting rights in January when Federline was given sole custody.

By February this year, some meetings with her children were allowed and, in July, Spears won a ruling allowing her greater access.
