A standard watch the same as Craig's is worth 15,000 |
The wristwatch belonging to Daniel Craig, which he gave to Jonathan Ross when he appeared on his talk show, is being auctioned for Children In Need. The watch is similar to the one Craig wears as James Bond in the latest 007 film Quantum of Solace. A lap with Top Gear driver The Stig and tickets to the final of Celebrity Scissorhands are also up for grabs. Money from the sale, which will start at 2000 GMT on Monday on eBay, will go towards the BBC's annual fundraiser. Craig handed over the watch when Ross hinted that he had always wanted to own an Omega watch. 'Give me that watch' "What do you want me to do?" Craig said. "Give me that watch you got there," Ross said. "You want this watch, it's yours," the actor replied. After Ross tried to swap the watch for a coaster bearing the face of comic Ricky Gervais, he suggested it should be donated to charity. Bidders can also win a set visit to Saturday Kitchen and go along to the BBC weather centre. Signed Pudsey bears and programme memorabilia from The Apprentice, Doctor Who and Strictly Come Dancing are also being included in the sale. But Craig's watch is the main lot. A watch with the same specifications is worth around 15,000, but the BBC said the actor's is "invaluable as it has been worn by Daniel and came directly off his wrist". Prices for all the items will start at 0.99.
