BBC presenters Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have spoken about the series of prank calls made to the actor Andrew Sachs during Brand's BBC Radio 2 show on 18 October.
The pair had left lewd messages about the actor's granddaughter on his voicemail.
Speaking on a videocast after the show, they said that any offence caused to the Fawlty Towers actor was "not intentional" and that sometimes "you don't realise that what you're doing has a reality outside".
The BBC has apologised to actor for the "unacceptable and offensive" content of the calls.
