 Brad Pitt stars as a gym employee in Burn After Reading |
Oscar-winning film-makers the Coen Brothers have topped the UK and Ireland box office chart with their latest film Burn After Reading. The comedy, starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt and John Malkovich, took �2.04m in its opening weekend. It took nearly twice as much as its nearest rival, action film Eagle Eye starring Shia LaBeouf, which took �1.1m at number two. Animated film Igor was the third new entry in the top 10 at number three. The film, about a hunchbacked lab assistant and his big dreams of becoming a mad scientist, features the voices of John Cusack and John Cleese.  | UK BOX OFFICE TOP FIVE

Last week's number one movie, The House Bunny, starring Anna Faris as a Playboy bunny thrown out of the mansion, fell three places to four. Thrillers Mirrors and Taken occupied the middle of the chart. Simon Pegg comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate People fell from three to seven, with musical Mamma Mia! keeping its place in the top 10 after 15 weeks on the chart at number eight. Family adventure City of Ember and Ben Stiller comedy Tropic Thunder rounded out the top 10.
