Forsyth sticks with Strictly show

TV entertainer Bruce Forsyth is taking legal action over reports that he is stepping down as the host of Strictly Come Dancing.

Reports had suggested the 80-year-old would be leaving at the end of the current BBC series.

But Forsyth's manager, Ian Wilson, insisted: "This story is not true and the matter is being put in the hands of our solicitors."

Strictly Come Dancing was watched by 8.6 million people on Saturday night.

The veteran presenter has recently hit back at critics who have accused him of being too old, updating his old catchphrase to "I am not doddery... doddery I am not!"

Forsyth became a household name with his first major TV show, Sunday Night at the London Palladium, which he hosted in the early 1960s.

He has also presented The Generation Game and The Price is Right, and became Strictly Come Dancing co-host in 2004.
