BBC radio star Chris Evans and his golfer wife Natasha Shishmanian are expecting a baby, he has announced.

The Radio 2 DJ, 42, revealed the news on his blog and published a scan image of the foetus.

He wrote: "How does one put this? Alright, I suppose it goes something like this - introducing baby DJ."

Evans married Shishmanian, 28, a professional golfer and model, in August last year. He has a 21-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Evans added: "Mother and 6cm human both officially rockin'.

"I think that'll do for today. Lots of love."

The baby is the couple's first child.

Evans and ex-wife Billie Piper were granted a divorce last May, nearly three years after their separation.

Piper, who is also reportedly pregnant, married fellow actor Laurence Fox at a ceremony on New Year's Eve 2007.
