Hulk beats UK box office rivals

Edward Norton plays The Incredible Hulk in the chart-topping movie

The Incredible Hulk has gone straight into the UK and Irish film chart at number one, the same position it holds at the North American box office.

The superhero remake took �3.25m between Friday and Sunday, pushing the big screen version of Sex and the City into second place.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull dropped to number three.

M Night Shyamalan's The Happening was the only other new entry of the week, going in at number four.

Spoof comedy Superhero Movie fell to two places to fifth on the list.

Gone Baby Gone, Ben Affleck's story about a child's disappearance, was down a place to number six.

Slasher film Prom Night dropped one spot to seven, while this week's number eight is What Happens in Vegas, a romantic comedy, which has fallen two spots.

Robert Downey Jr's latest, Iron Man, was down from seven to nine place, while Mongol - a film about the young Genghis Khan - dropped one place to complete the top 10.
