Coldplay's new album will be released on 12 June |
A song Coldplay recorded with Kylie Minogue was "too sexy" to include on the band's new album, singer Chris Martin has revealed. The track, called Lunar, did not make the cut for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, which is out later this month. But Martin told Q Radio it will appear on a record the band hope to release next year. He said: "Kylie is particularly brilliant on it." 'Wrap things up' Martin added: "It's just too sexy, at this point we cannot be that sexy, also we haven't quite finished it. "It will 100% see the light of day... on a record that we will put out at the end of next year. "It'll be track nine I imagine and then track 10 will be a song called Life In Technicolor, which is the song of a piece that we put on this album, and it will neatly wrap up things for the end of the decade." When asked if Minogue had a hand in writing the track, Martin said: "She writes most of our stuff and we design most of her outfits." Martin also waded into the debate surrounding the controversy over rapper Jay-Z's appearance at Glastonbury. He said: "It's just proof that a great portion of the world are idiots. "I don't even know where the controversy started, it probably started from two people on a computer who don't really know what they're talking about."
