Tucker said she was "devastated" not to be picked for the final |
Aspiring musical stars Samantha Barks, Jodie Prenger and Jessie Buckley will do battle in Saturday's final of BBC One's I'd Do Anything. The talent show offers one hopeful a chance to star as Nancy in a Cameron Mackintosh production of Oliver! Contestant Rachel Tucker, from Belfast, was the ninth performer to be eliminated from the talent show. The 26-year-old said she was devastated to have left the series after failing to be picked by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The impresario had to choose between her and Barks after they came bottom of a public vote. He praised her on a "wonderful performance" of the title song from musical Cabaret but added: "I've got to think of where the show ultimately for Cameron is going to go and I think I have to go with Samantha." Tucker said: "I'm absolutely devastated that I didn't make it into the final. "After getting into the last 12 that was my aim. It's been the most unbelievable experience of a lifetime and I don't regret a single minute of it. I'm glad I went out on such a high." A public vote on Saturday will decide who wins the part in the West End production.
