Parker 'loves' her City co-stars

Sarah Jessica Parker
Parker revealed the film nearly did not get made

Sarah Jessica Parker has denied there is a rift with her co-stars in the Sex And The City film.

This follows reports that the 43-year-old actress does not speak with Kim Cattrall and they go to great lengths to avoid each other.

Speaking on BBC One's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Parker insisted she "loved those women".

The actress, who plays Carrie Bradshaw, said: "I wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else."

'Marvellous' work

She added: "We are family, there would be no reason to do it otherwise.

"I'm so proud of the work the other ladies have done, I think they're marvellous."

It has been suggested that Cattrall, who plays Samantha Jones in the show, refused to sit through the screening of the premiere in London's Leicester Square.

There have also been reports that the on-set rift may have centred on the differing amounts of money they were paid for the film.

However, the stars' publicists have insisted there was no disagreement and that they all get on.

According to Parker, the film version was very nearly never made.

"There was no script, there was an idea," she said.

"Two years ago I had this instinct we should revisit the idea. Our audience grew after we went off-air so the audience created the opportunity."

The Hollywood film followed the success of the highly popular television series set in New York, which ended four years ago.

The show airs on BBC One on Friday at 2235 BST.
