Horne and Corden play best friends Fletch and Jimmy in the British film |
Gavin and Stacey actors Matthew Horne and James Corden are to co-star in a comedy called Lesbian Vampire Killers. The actors, who recently signed up to make a new comedy sketch show for BBC Three, play friends who find themselves stuck in a village of bloodsuckers. Corden said it was "a dream come true" to make the picture with "best friend" Horne. The latter said he would have "a fun time" working on the project. "I love lesbians, I love vampires and I quite like James Corden," he added. Lesbian Vampire Killers is written by Stewart Williams, a writer on Channel 4's Friday Night Project, and Paul Hupfield from Balls of Steel. The six-week shoot is set to begin at the end of May |
Phil Claydon will direct the film for British firm AV Pictures, which previously produced the 2004 Kelly Brook comedy School for Seduction. Shooting for the film, which will be released in the UK and Ireland by Momentum Pictures, is set to begin at the end of May. Corden and Horne will play Fletch and Jimmy, two friends whose holiday in Wales sees them battling women who have been enslaved by a legendary vampire curse. The pair are also due to appear in a Christmas edition of Gavin and Stacey, which Corden will write with fellow cast member Ruth Jones. During the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, BBC News website readers voted Lesbian Vampire Killers as the project they wanted to know more about. Back then Claydon promised the film would have audiences "laughing and screaming in the auditorium".
