EastEnders won best soap at the British Soap Awards in London, beating Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

Emmerdale's Roxanne Pallet, who was up for best actress and sexiest female, had to be helped out with her dress on the purple carpet.

Hollyoaks actresses (left-right) Jennifer Metcalfe, Leah Hackett, Claire Cooper and Gemma Merna savoured the limelight.
