Madonna celebrated the release of her new album Hard Candy with an intimate show at Roseland Ballroom. 2008 Warner Bros. Records Inc.

Madonna was joined on stage by Justin Timberlake to celebrate the release of her album Hard Candy at a New York gig.

The pair performed their single 4 Minutes at the Roseland Ballroom. Fans queued up for days outside the venue.

The album is on course to become Madonna's 10th UK number one album, outselling its closest rival by more than 50%, according to early figures.

It is also on course to knock Mariah Carey's E=MC2 off the top of the US album chart.

If Hard Candy does make number one in the UK, Madonna will become only the third act to achieve 10 number ones - although that calculation includes the 1996 Evita soundtrack, which featured other artists other than Madonna.

The Beatles currently head the all-time list with 15 number ones, while Elvis Presley has 11.
