TV and radio presenter Denise Van Outen has admitted that her face has been left scarred by sunbeds.

The 33-year-old began using the tanning beds in her teenage years and became addicted, she admitted in her Now magazine column.

Van Outen, a judge on the BBC talent show I'd Do Anything, said she now has scars on her face which she has to hide with make-up.

She said: "Tans fade and it's not worth the risk. Now my tan's from a bottle."

Van Outen, who also presents the breakfast show with Johnny Vaughan on London's Capital Radio, added: "I used a sunbed when I was 18 because I didn't know the risks, but I'm paying for it now.

"It's my big regret - I have pigmentation problems on my face. Girls are still using sunbeds, risking cancer for a tan."
