Blake Fielder-Civil and Amy Winehouse still want to appeal |
Singer Amy Winehouse has had a court appearance in Norway this Friday cancelled, with no new date set as yet. Winehouse, her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and a third person were expected to appeal against a fine for possession of cannabis.
Her lawyer, Ole Kvelstad, successfully filed a petition to postpone the hearing, in Bergen, for the moment.
He argued that Norwegian police had failed to make adequate arrangements for Mr Fielder-Civil to appear.
In fact, Mr Fielder-Civil is due in London's Snaresbrook Crown Court on the same day, charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and GBH.
The three still wish to make the appeal but no new court date has been fixed, Mr Kvelstad told the BBC News website.
'Impossible' to proceed
Award-winning soul star Winehouse was fined 500 euros (380; $756) and spent the night in police cells in October after allegedly being found with 7g (0.25oz) of cannabis.

Her father, Mitch, has claimed that she was duped into signing the confession, believing it was a release form, and that the drugs did not belong to her. The police maintained that fluent English-speakers had ensured she understood what was going on.
Mr Kvelstad said the court had insisted all three were present for the appeal and that this became impossible when police failed to ensure Mr Fielder-Civil would be there.
"This side wanted to complete this case, but when the circumstances became as they did, it was regrettably necessary to postpone," he explained.
