Singer Pink has split from her husband Carey Hart following two years of marriage, her publicist has announced.

"This decision was made by best friends with a huge amount of love and respect for one another," said Michele Schweitzer in a statement.

The Grammy award winning-star, 28, met Hart, a motocross rider, in Las Vegas seven years ago and proposed to him in 2005.

The pair were married at a ceremony in Costa Rica in 2006.

Award wins

"While the marriage is over, their friendship has never been stronger," added Ms Schweitzer.

Pink's best-known hits include Get The Party Started and Don't Let Me Get Me.

The performer - whose real name is Alecia Moore - won the best female rock performance Grammy in 2003 for her song Trouble.

That same year, she won the Brit award for best international female artist.

Just Like A Pill from 2002 remains Pink's only chart-topping UK single to date.
