Backley appeared in his fourth consecutive skate-off |
Javelin star Steve Backley has become the latest celebrity to be voted off ITV1's Dancing on Ice. The Olympian, who has a prosthetic hip, lost out to former Coronation Street actress Zaraah Abrahams in the skate-off between the bottom two.
"Having the prosthetic hip is a big deal, my stumbling block is getting over that," he said.
In the past three weeks, Backley had performed in the skate for survival and managed to survive.
Whiplash
Tennis player Greg Rusedski came off worse in the judge's comments when told he had the charisma of "cardboard".
Judge Jason Gardiner added: "There is no oomph in your performance - it starts at one level and doesn't move. You are dull as dishwater."
Rusedski finished bottom of the judges' scoreboard with 16 points, followed by Backley with a total of 18.
Actress and singer Suzanne Shaw performed in Saturday's 1960s-themed show despite missing rehearsals because of a stomach bug.
Skater Frankie Poultney, meanwhile, performed despite suffering from whiplash after her partner, Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain, dropped her on her head in rehearsals on Friday.
