 | Billie Piper concealed her dress under a black overcoat |
Former Doctor Who star Billie Piper has married her fiance Laurence Fox in church at a New Year's Eve ceremony. The couple wed at St Mary's Church in Easebourne, West Sussex, near their home in Midhurst.
The 25-year-old met fellow actor Fox, 29, last December when they performed together in a stage production of Christopher Hampton's Treats.
Fox arrived at the church with friends, thanking photographers who wished him good luck and said he felt "very good".
Fox is best known as the sidekick of Kevin Whately in the Inspector Morse spin-off series, Lewis.
Piper entered the church wearing a low-cut full-length white dress covered by a long black coat and was accompanied by her father.
Dr Who star David Tennant was Piper's co-star |
The couple rejected magazine deals in favour of a private day with family and close friends.
Piper's former husband, BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, arrived for the wedding with his wife Natasha Shishmanian.
The bridegroom's father and uncle, actors James Fox and Edward Fox, were also at the ceremony.
Doctor Who star David Tennant also attended the wedding along with Fox's co-star Whately.
It has been reported the wedding reception would be held at a pub owned by Evans.
Piper and Fox were pictured walking into St Mary's Church at the weekend, before spending an hour inside.
In June 1998, at age 15, she scored a number one in the UK singles chart with her debut single, Because We Want To.
She found fame again playing Doctor Who's assistant, Rose Tyler, and recently signed up to star in a second series of the ITV2 drama Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.
